Having a DJ play music in the dining room was not helpful.The tables are far enough apart for privacy, the live music is just loud enough for the vibe, the lights are low for ambiance, with just the right amount of candlelight to read the menu. A final comment, this place is LOUD! Yes, it was a Saturday evening and very crowded, but the acoustics make it hard to talk to the person you are sitting next to. We were not in a rush, but the evening seemed long because of these lapses. Our server was fantastic, however there was lots of 'air' between ordering a drink and getting them, ordering food and then getting it, asking for our check, and then getting it. Food is delicious-everything we tried was a hit from bao buns to pad thai, chicken satay (wow), sushi rolls. One can select appetizers, dim sum, shareable main courses-in fact the best way to enjoy Tao is for everyone to order a few things and then let the sharing begin. This is a wow-there is so much to look at! The menu has a lot to offer. When your table is ready, make the journey through this 'water' hallway into the expansive dining room. Enter a long dark corridor to the host desk, then visit the dimly-lit bar area with super cool furnishings. There's a lot here!! First, the design elements are on a Disney scale. I can think of a few other places I'd rather go. I will likely never suggest this place, but I wouldn't mind going if I got invited out. The edamame was $9.00 and my entrée was $36.00. My first drink was $17.00 and my second was $19.00. Value: This place isn't cheap and you're paying for it with all of the decorations. I have had better at hole-in-the-wall Thai places, but I think that is to be expected. The flavors weren't strong enough and didn't pop enough. I can't really put my finger on it, but it just didn't blow me away. I opted for the Pad Thai Noodles then added lobster. It was in a cute wicker basket steamer, was cooked excellently and decently salty. For an appetizer we started with the edamame. This one was also refreshing, but they just weren't as strong as I needed them to be for the amount of money that they cost. I must say, TAO makes some beautifully looking and tasty drinks, that's for sure. It's got a cute name, right? It contains Tito's Vodka, Domaine Chandon Sparkling Rose, St. I don't remember getting a good buzz from it so that's why I got a 2nd drink! Lol. I had a Ruby Red Dragon which contains Finlandia Grapefruit Vodka, yuzu citrus and pomegranate. Food: So we started off with a couple of drinks. Service: Tina took care of us and she went above and beyond to make sure we had the best experience possible. Did I mention this place is enormous? If anything, come here for the atmosphere. ![]() Everywhere you looked it was Asian-inspired with deep-red lighting, ancient artifacts and even down to the uniforms. It felt like the restaurant had a Disney-sized budget to deck this place out. Out in the casino for the evening and it's time for dinner! I've seen other TAO locations across the country, but have never had the opportunity to check one out, so here's my chance and here's how it went! Atmosphere/Appearance: OMG, the ambiance and décor in here is literally next level.
